Ive never been able to understand why I cant eat Ice cream so my grandma always gave me sherbert while my siblings were eating icecream and I never understood why I thought it was because i weas special but the other day my sister told me that ice cream was way better than shebert but how will i know and i cant taste itWhats the difference between sherbert and Ice cream?
ice cream is made with milk if your lactose intolerant than sherbert will be best its made with waterWhats the difference between sherbert and Ice cream?
The main difference is the fat content. To be called ice cream, the dessert has to have at least 10% milkfat. Low cost varieties have around 11% or 12%, with premium brands having around 16%, and less air. Less than 10% makes it ice milk or light ice cream. Sherbet has around 2% milkfat, is flavored from fruit juice or wine, and may also contain egg. Sorbet has no milk, although a few varieties contain egg.
1st lady is correct. But, I thought they made ice cream for people who are lactose intolerant just like the milk, etc. The next time you are at the store, I would investigate that.
Ice cream is more solid texture where you can scoop it out in large chunks and Sherbet is more softer sweeter creamy frozen treat. That is lesser of the two that is not fattening and better to eat.
