How do you to make vanilla icing with no cream of tarter and powdered sugar?

I'm making a vanilla cake, but no simple recipe without cream of tarter and powdered sugar.How do you to make vanilla icing with no cream of tarter and powdered sugar?
One of my favorites is a white cake with vanilla icing. MMMM

Fluffy White Icing

* 2 egg whites

* 1 1/2 cups sugar

* 1/8 teaspoon salt

* 1/3 cup water

* 2 teaspoons light corn syrup

* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

Combine sugar, water, salt and corn syrup in small pot and bring to boil. Take off heat and cool a little while you beat the egg whites in the mixer on high till they slightly peak. Then pour the hot syrup mixture into egg whites very slowly while mixer is still going. Pour the mixture onto the side of the bowl, not into the beaters or you will get splattered with the hot syrup. Beat on high 7 minutes, or until mixture will stand in stiff peaks. Lastly add the vanilla and beat for an additional 30 seconds.

This stuff is so good, my son takes whatever won't fit on the cake and eats it as is. LOL

Better Cream Whipped Cake Icing

录 cup cold water

1 tsp unflavored gelatin

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1 Tbsp. white sugar

陆 tsp vanilla extract

Chill mixing bowl and beaters for at least 15 minutes before using. Place water in a small microwave-safe bowl. Sprinkle gelatin over water and allow to soften 5 minutes. Dissolve gelatin by microwaving for 3 minutes, stirring after every minute. Remove from microwave and let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes; gelatin must be liquid but not warm when added to cream.

Remove bowl and beaters from refrigerator and pour in cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat together just until beater marks begin to show distinctly. Add gelatin mixture to cream, pouring in a steady stream while beating constantly. Beat until stiff peaks form. Use immediately.
if you have a food processor or blender, pulverize the white sugar into powder form.

Vanilla Buttercream Icing

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

6 cups confectioners sugar

1/2 cup milk

2 tsps. vanilla extract

Place the butter in a large mixing bowl.

Add 4 cups of the sugar and then the milk and vanilla. On the medium speed of an electric mixer, beat until smooth and creamy, about 3-5 minutes.

Gradually add the remaining sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating well after each addition (about 2 minutes) until the icing is thick enough to be of good spreading consistency. You may not need to add all of the sugar.

(Use and store the icing at room temperature because icing will set if chilled.) Icing can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
My mom used to make this.

VANILLA PUDDING ICING

1/2 c. Crisco

1 c. sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

VANILLA FROSTING

1 c. Crisco

1 c. butter

2 c. granulated sugar

6 tbsp. flour

Powdered sugar is easy, just put regular granulated sugar into a Magic bullet (or other food processor/blender) and grind with the flat blade.

  • Best thing to get rid of pen off a cream leather sofa?

    Any idea's, my son got pen on the sofa, kids, don't you just love em!

    thanks.Best thing to get rid of pen off a cream leather sofa?
    If it is on a pigmented leather then the first thing you should try is an LTT ink stick (these are professional products used in the industry). The fresher the ink the more chance you have of removing it.

    You should also be using a good quality leather protector on your leather. This will act like a 'scotchgard' and will make any more mishaps easier to clean off.

    If an ink stick doesn't work a solvent based remover will need to be used and it may also remove finish and pigment so is best left to the experts.

    Using hairspray is very risky ait but can make the matter far worse as it can spread the ink over a bigger area (especially on an aniline style leather) and can sometimes then be impossible to fix.

    Nail varnish remover or any other solvents will remove the finish and pigment which will need replacing.

    DO NOT USE Baby wipes as they are about the worst thing you can use on a leather as they break down the finish and will eventually ruin it.

    Please do not try milk or toothpaset these are silly ideas that will leave sticky residues on the surface which will help to break down the finish on your leather.

    Old ink will be harder to remove than new ink and may mean resorting to solvents which will also remove the finish. This is probably best left to the experts.

    Silicones/furniture polish are the worst thing to use on leather as they will form a coating on the surface of the leather which will not allow any moisture to get to the leather and will eventually break all the finish down and make it crack. Leather needs water and should not be protected against it.

    Leather does not need conditioning it needs cleaning and protecting on a regular basis with water based products this will keep it rehydrated and supple. Oils will make things much worse.

    Leather should be cleaned gently not scrubbed so 'elbow grease' will only do damage to the finish.

    Nail Varnish remover/solvents will remove the finish on the leather even if you cannot tell it is doing so and alcohol may do the same depending on the strength of the finish on the leather.

    Hide food will not remove ink and will leave residues on the leather which will attract dirt and oils.

    Try Solumel by Melaleuca
    a tiny dab of nail varnish remover
    spray hairspray on and rub off with a clean cloth
    try baby wipes or hairspray
    hairspay on a small dab on cotton wool, hairspray removes pen from all sorts but spay not directly on the sofa but spray directly onto the cotton woll not the sofa
    get leather sofa cleaning wipes from the supermarket
    Try some rubbing alcohol.:)
    Oily eye make up remover pad - definitely

    Neat washing up liquid and a damp cloth - probably

    Baby wipe - Possibly.
    If it's ballpoint pen ink, hairspray will remove it. Don't spray directly onto the leather, though, spray a soft cloth and rub it. If it's liquid ink, WD40 will probably work; once again on a soft cloth.
    Methylated spirit works well to remove ink and grass stains
    Baby wipes are good ffor just about everything.

    What happens to my short cake if i just cream it at 30 seconds instead of the standard 2 minutes?

    Its for my bakery science class. I have to do a mini-report on what happens to the cake if the time to cream was reduced to 30 seconds.

    its an assignment that needs a good source. please put your references! %26gt;.%26lt; i need it!

    thanks!What happens to my short cake if i just cream it at 30 seconds instead of the standard 2 minutes?
    When creaming a mixture you are incorporating air, basically by wrapping the fat (butter) round the sugar crystals. The crystals are irregular shapes and as you cream, you trap air in the spaces around the crystal.

    Sooo - you will not have enough air trapped to make a light biscuit.

    No reference, as this is knowledge acquired while completing a home economics degree some years ago. Now you have the knowledge, you can do some research for your homework! ;-)What happens to my short cake if i just cream it at 30 seconds instead of the standard 2 minutes?
    well that cake wont spread out and rise properly. It will be flat.

    Also it will have a different taste. I cant explain it but its like something is missing.

    TRY IT YOURSELF. I think that will get you good marks if you an say you tested it yourself
    Larger crumb structure (more air holes) as the batter will not be homogeniously mixed.
    it will be crumbly and dry and not as well mixed.

    Anyone know what is the suitable preservative for ';ROJAK'; cream which is black in colour and made of prawn?

    ROJAK is one kind of food in Malaysia. It is a food which mixed up prawn cream with fruits and vegetables. But unfortunely, this black cream just can stand for 1 week without any preservatives. Therefore, i wish i can find some preservatives which are suit for the black colour prawn cream. Can any one help me? Thanks for giving me some points.Anyone know what is the suitable preservative for ';ROJAK'; cream which is black in colour and made of prawn?
    In food grade preservative, there are 2 types commonly used, BHA and Sulfites.

    BHA is use in foods that contain high percentage of fats and oil. while Sulfites is used mainly for fruits and vegetables and also other usage in stopping the growth of bacteria.

    As there are no natural way to produce BHA, so left only Sulfites as our choice.

    Sulfites can be produce from lemon juice. Fresh squeeze lemon juice can provide plentiful of sodium bisulfite which is another name of Sulfites.

    Well, there will make the rojak a little bit weird in taste but when you added rojak with fruits like pineapple, it would not make a lot difference then.

    So, you make your own rojak, till wondering how to make those although i took rojak a lot of times.

    Hope i answer your question, thank you for the time reading this.
