Yes, you very well can. I would suggest blending 1 cup of the icing with a 1/2 cup of cream cheese, and then tasting it and seeing were you'd like the flavor to go from there, adding more of one if you feel like it. You could also add about 1 teaspoon of vanilla to give it a more unique taste.
