What kind of cake goes great with cream cheese frosting?

I am trying to get my kids interested in different frostings other than choc/vanilla. So I really need a cake to go with cream cheese frosting plz help!What kind of cake goes great with cream cheese frosting?
Any kind of cake goes good under cream cheese frosting! And you can flavor the cream cheese frosting any way you wish. It does not have to have just vanilla extract in it.





And with the butter cream frosting, you can add lots of different extracts rather than the vanilla!





How about a cup of chopped coconut and a teaspoon of coconut extract and 1/4 teaspoon almond extract? To chop the coconut, place it in the food processor and buzz a couple of times or put on cutting board and chop with knife. Makes the coconut smaller bits so it is less noticable.





Orange extract, orange zest,





Lemon extract, lemon zest or lime?





Mocha! Use strong coffee in light chocolate icing.


Put a tablespoon instant coffee granules and 1/4 cup instant cocoa powder in the cream cheese frosting! More interesting add orange extract to that.

Things You'll Need:


* 8 oz cream cheese


* 1 1/2 lbs. confectioners sugar


* 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract


* 1/2 cup butter


* 1 Cup chopped Pecans





1)Cream together CREAM CHEESE and Butter in a large bowl.


2)Add Sugar and Vanilla; Mix well


3)Using a wooden spoon, fold in pecans


4)Cover cake and store in the Refrigerator for lasting freshness.


5)If desired, you can warm pieces slightly in the Microwave for approximately 30 seconds before serving.
I made this Italian Cream cake for a dinner party last week and everybody RAVED about it. It was super moist and delicious, and has cream cheese frosting.

I read all of the reviews before I baked it, and I used 2 suggestions that made it perfect. Add 1 tsp Almond Extract to the batter. Also, double the frosting (I didn't quite double the powdered suger, but almost) to frost the sides of the cake.
Carrot Cake [my favorite] or any type of chocolate cake, strawberry cake, lemon cake and honestly I think you cannot go wrong with cream cheese frosting on any type of cake. Well, it would be rather bland on yellow or vanilla cake.

carrot %26amp; Red Velvet are standards with cream cheese frosting ...... Also, try making frosting for them by whipping 2 cups of extra-heavy whipping cream with 1/2 package of any flavor jello or pudding mix (dry). That will flavor %26amp; color the frosting; and is easy to do and great to eat!
Carrot cake, red velvet cake, apple cake, spice cake, even a strawberry cake. If you made lemon cream cheese, that would be delicious with a lemon poppy seed cake.

Red velvet cake is the best!!! My kids loved it.. and now my grandkids want me to make it every time they come over. They like the idea of red cake!!
Carrot cake is the obvious answer, chocolate cake or lemon cake is really good with it as well, but the best I think is red velvet cake
