Not sorbet.....but milk based.
I've searched the net thoroughly but didn't find it.Does anybody know the recipe for blackberry ice cream?
BLACKBERRY ICE CREAM
1 (3 oz.) pkg. blackberry jello
1/2 c. boiling water
1 (16 oz.) pkg. frozen unsweetened blackberries (thawed)
2 eggs
1 qt. milk
1 c. whipping cream
1 (3 3/4 oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
Dissolve jello in boiling water in freezer cannister. Beat eggs with 1 cup milk. Add remaining ingredients and stir until mixed. Freeze as you would any other homemade ice cream. Yield 2
1/2 quarts FOR FRESH BERRIES :
BLACKBERRY ICE CREAM
2 1/2 c. sugar, divided
3 c. fresh blackberries
3 eggs, beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
6 c. milk
1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk
Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar over blackberries; crush lightly. Puree berries in electric blender; if desired, put through a sieve to remove seeds. Combine eggs, salt, and remaining 2 cups sugar; beat well. Stir in vanilla, milk and blackberry mixture. Pour into freezer can of a 1 gallon ice cream freezer. Freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. Blackberry Ice Cream
2 C. freshly picked blackberries
1 C. sugar
2 C. heavy cream
2 - 3 T. fresh lemon juice
Puree berries in a food processor. Force the berries through a fine strainer to remove the seeds. Add the sugar to the cream and mix until dissolved. Stir in the berry puree and lemon juice.
Freeze in an ice cream machine according to manufacturer's directions.
Just sub yoru fresh or frozen adn paritally-thawed backberries for any fruit called for in any other ice cream recipe. Like this one!
Peach Ice Cream
1 quart soft peaches (or other fruit)
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. pure vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract,
2 quarts cold, rich whipping cream
Place peaches and next 3 ingredients in a large bowl. Cover with a tee towel, and set aside for an hour or so. Be sure to keep some pieces in small chunks.
When ready to freeze add cream, mix thoroughly, and freeze in your freezer.
