Ingredients
1 9-inch pie shell, baked
3 cups whole milk
3/4 cup white sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 egg yolk, slightly beaten
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 banana
Directions
1Have baked 9-inch pie shell ready.
2In a large saucepan, scald the milk.
3In another saucepan, combine the sugar, flour and salt; gradually stir in the scalded milk.
4Over medium heat, stirring constantly, cook until thickened.
5Cover and, stirring occasionally, cook for two minutes longer.
6In a small bowl, have the 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten, ready; stir a small amount of the hot mixture into beaten yolks; when thoroughly combined, stir yolks into hot mixture.
7Cook for one minute longer, stirring constantly.
8Remove from heat and blend in the butter and vanilla.
9Let sit until lukewarm.
10When ready to pour, slice bananas and scatter in pie shell; pour warm mixture over bananas.
11If desired, make a meringue (you'll have 3 leftover egg whites) to top the pie, or just let the pie cool until serving.How can I make a delicious Banana Cream pie?
a 9 in pie shell (graham cracker)
2 box of banana cream flavored pudding
1 large container of cool whip
bananas
2 cups milk
mix pudding, milk in a large bowl.
then add half the container of cool whip and mix in
slice bananas and place half on the bottom of the pie crust in a single layer.
put pudding filling on top of banana slices.
put remaining banana slices on top of pudding mixture.
then add remaining cool whip to the top.
Refrigerate for about 1 or 2 hours.

2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed

Slice 2 of the bananas and arrange in bottom of baked and cooled pastry shell.
Pour cold milk into a medium bowl. Add pudding mix and whisk until thoroughly combined. Fold in 1/2 cup of the whipped topping. Pour into pastry shell.
Chill at least 3 hours before serving. Garnish with remaining whipped topping and slices of the remaining banana.
Well, you can make it the hard way or the easy way. My kids always preferred the easy way and turned their noses up when i did the ';from scratch'; version which is a lot of trouble.
I would buy a ready made graham cracker crust, add sliced bananas in the bottom and pour a large box of prrpared Jello vanilla custard (the cooked kind,) with an extra dash of vanilla extract. You can then decorate the top with meringue, crushed graham crackers or whipped cream (or cool whip.)
