';How do they do that?'; Fried Ice Cream?

Anyone have recipes other than the cereal-coated fried ice-cream? I want to ';amaze'; my grandchildren with this treat.';How do they do that?'; Fried Ice Cream?
make your icecream balls first and put them back in the freezer.

- next mix together the following crushed up ingredients: granola, nuts, cinnimon, and honey (or any other things that have a granola like texture that would compare in flavor). put only enough honey in to keep the mixture dry but sticky.

- after your icecream balls are really frozen, take them out and roll them in your granola mixture. Put the balls back in the freezer until they are frozen solid.

- if you have a deep frier, drop them in for about 2-3 seconds (one at a time). this should make the outside crunchy and the inside still frozen.

- top with a drizzle of honey or chocolate sauce or what ever suits your fancy and a little whipped cream.

yummy.............';How do they do that?'; Fried Ice Cream?

The Japanese use boiled white rice and the Mexicans use flour.
wow! fried ice cream? i havent heard about that, i want to know how they do that , thats why i accessed this question.I dont wanna ask the same question myself, they might think im stupid that i dont know that the moment i fry the ice it will thaw in no time.
You thank-you for asking that.I didn't even know that one.I wish I'd can learn more about it.
it is this simple. balls of vanilla ice cream frozen in balls ahead of tome. Frosted Flakes and honey. Roll the balls in the Frosted Flakes after dipping them in Honey. immerse in 350 degree Canola Oil until golden brown. remove and place on paper towel. Sprinkle Powdered sugar on top and serve. THIS is the way we do it in California. The Mexicans that is, who brought it here.
I've had fried ice cream in Mexican restaurants. Delicious!

Check out this recipe: (scroll down for the real recipe)

l had a Thai friend who took the crust off of soft pieces of white bread. She then put a scoop of ice cream in the center of the bread and then rolled the sides of the bread up around the ice cream and pressed the edges of the bread together. She then had a bread ball with ice cream in the center. She fried this at high heat until golden brown. It was delicious.
dis what i usualy do fried puff pastry ice cream

puff pastry you can just use the store bought

cut it in desired size (size shoud well cover the ice cream) soop the ice cream in the middle cover it should be completely sealed so that the oil will not touch the ice cream. put it in the freezer overnight den its ready for frying
when you want to cook it put the ice cream covered with cereal for only 1 seconds in the hot oil..

in Malaysia they even sell the fried ice cream in the night stalls
This is a recipe from a old cookbook that I have, but I have never tried this particular recipe.

Fried Ice Cream

1 pint ice cream

1 pound cake

1/2 pint whipping cream

1 egg

Slice ice cream into 1 inch thick pieces. Place on jelly roll pan. Place in freezer. Grate pound cake into fine crumbs. Combine whipping cream and egg, mixing well. Dip ice cream into cream mixture. Coat with cake crumbs. Refreeze. Fry in deep hot oil for one minute. Drain. Serve immediately.

I have also heard of using crushed corn flakes to coat the ice cream in. Then deep fry.
are you from Texas.. they fry everything down there.. even fried cocacola...

what other deep fat fried concoction can someone invent to clog up our arteries..

I know you want to try this, but please dont bother.. just serve them ice cream regularly.. they will enjoy that just as well
