Will a cake look okay if one tier is coverd in fondant, and one is butter cream?

i was originally planning on the bottom tier being marbled pink and white fondant, and the top being white butter creme.....but today i'm suddenly wondering if that will look ok, i don't think i've ever seen a cake like that....what do u think?Will a cake look okay if one tier is coverd in fondant, and one is butter cream?
I think the pink and white marbled with the buttercream top sounds awesome! As long as it's nice and smooth, what does it matter? I would add some decorations of pink flowers or something pink that goes with your theme to tie it all in. Maybe a line of flowers from the middle of the top tier and curve a line of the down the side of the cake with some pretty pearl drop designs on top and sides would be beautiful!

I have done that but I had a 3 tier cake..The bottom fondant the middle butter cream an the top fondant. That way it looks like a pattern and not that you ran out of fondant and decided to go with butter cream. I think I looks nice. But butter cream is difficult to deal with, especially for me because I live in PR and we have constant sun. But If you are ready to deal with that then go ahead and experiment. Thats what cakes are made for!
I'd probably put a buttercream filling in the middle, and cover the whole cake in the fondant.
It is very interesting to create something that comes from your imagination, you know, when you think in creating something and it's clear in your mind: do it! because this world it's for the people like you!, the people that like to create without any rules. If you think it's OK I know it's going to be like that. I can imagine that cake very elegant and at the top over the buttercream to put a beautiful bow made of the same color that the marble pink's fondant.
I agree with justme. I have done cake decorating for years and I did Fondant, Butter Cream, Royal, etc., but never one layer of one and another of the other. Too much variation in weights.
